This black-and-white film tries to depict, with great modesty and honesty, a day in the life of a family living in a remote village in Ethiopia. In this rural and particularly patriarchal society, Assayuh raises her four children alone. The harvest period is an opportunity to discover their daily activities, which are reminiscent of ancestral gestures. A Single Day offers us an intimate and authentic vision of this community.
